Q: Dear Adri,
I am married to a lovely man, and we have a very happy marriage. Every year, we spend Christmas with his parents, which I have no problem with. The issue is with his mother. She is obsessed with weight and comments on the weight of all her daughters-in-law, even though she is far from slim herself.
It really annoys me to think that she is doing the same about me. The other day I found myself thinking that I must lose a stone or two before Christmas, even though I normally wouldn’t give my weight a second thought.
How would you deal with this?
